Lexi Palm Flash Cards
One of the challenges of studying Chinese as an adult is finding the time to practice. Having the vocabulary words available on my Palm helps. Then I can practice a few words whenever I have a few spare minutes. After trying several different programs, I decided that Lexi met my needs best. Check the Lexi site at http://lexi.agrino.org/ for more information and the latest versions. For convenience, the versions I've been using are posted here:

• Lexi for Palm OS (to run quizzes -- flash cards -- on your Palm)
• LexiCreator (for Windows -- unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a Mac version -- to create new databases).
• Lexi databases with vocabularly words chapters 1-6 from Intermediate Chinese by Yong Ho. Also included are the associated text files (sorry they're in a couple of different formats -- comma vs. tab delimited).

• Stephan's Hanzi Practice document (includes macro to generate grid at different sizes)
• Pinyin font

Listening Practice
As anyone who has learned a language will tell you, having class once a week really isn't sufficient to really learn the language. To get additional listening practice, I've found that http://chinesepod.com/ provides good additional listening practice in a structured lesson environment.
